Baron and Baroness Report

We’ve had a fun past month. We attended Silver Arrow and Brangwayn attended Grande TUA in Bitter End and Spring Champions in Myrgan Wood. We are excited for the bids that were put forward last month and look forward to them. If anyone is interested in helping out with Dragonslayer or Sergeants Trials, please speak to Anya O’Cuinn and Oenghus respectively. We had a blast at the Parade of Wonders (thank you to Skeld for spear heading that), and really want to have the Barony represented next year. The banner looked great; Thank you Robert of Nott for ordering it.

Peter & Brangwayn

Seneschal Report

I attended Parade of Wonders, and I think we made a strong showing! Thank you to Skeld for setting it up and Her Excellency Brangwyn for spearheading the creation of the Montengarde banner and for leading our group the day of the parade.

I attended Silver Arrow in Bitter End, and despite the inclement weather it was a great time! I was privileged to be able to witness the elevation of Master Tonis to the Order of Defense!

Plans for Summer Coronation are going well. I had a very productive discussion with His Royal Majesty Albrecht this past weekend, while attending Spring Champions in Myrgan Wood, regarding scheduling for that weekend.

In service,

Bóthæiðr

Arts and Sciences

Status Quo regular meetings. Culinary group is doing a sample night next week at the newcomer May tavern. Still looking for an officer.

Sigfus stated intent to step up as officer. Paperwork will be filled out at tavern

Polyfonia has been low attendance, on most wednesdays

Chatelaine

Greetings!

Fight practices and have moved outside and are gaining more traffic, as well we have our newcomers tavern coming up on May 24 (what keeps you coming back to the SCA?).  New business cards

Demos:
Parade of Wonders, walking to the Opening ceremonies of the Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo on April 28.  Our group went to the movie “King Arthur” on May 14 in garb and wandered the mall.

Positive Public Relations and Media Interactions
During the Parade of Wonders we made an appearance on CBC and Global, though our members were never interviewed.

We were approached by the Military Museum about expanding our relationship with them.  They have offered up their space inside and outside the museum.  The objective of the Museum is they need more people coming to the museum, and making their space more useful to the broader community.  They have room for us to camp, fight, shoot archery, have campfires, feasts, equestrian activities, etc.  The proviso is that our activities would have to be open to the public for observation/ participation.  For weekend events, it would be similar to AT war, where the public would be there during the day and the campsite would be SCA at night.  This will be discussed further at our council as how we can make use of this space.  At the moment they would like our help with their Summer Skirmish (June 10-11), Warhorse July 21-22, and a as yet unnamed medieval event on September 22.

Warhorse event: touch base with Bitter End with large equestrian group

Lost and found

Stuff was lost, stuff was found; please mark your stuff! And yes- I was SO excited about the Ninny Competition and sad due to Tim’s leaving us that I misplaced my iPad- oops! I normally have a business card stuck in it; don’t know where it went… Laugh it up, Fuzzballs… (merely a jest).

Many thanks to Blue and Peter and anyone else involved for grabbing it and letting me know!

As a courtesy, IF Lost and Found items get picked up after we leave or when we cannot attend an Event, could we be brought into the loop with a message to Dauphina, please? Jacqui Lynn Fidlar on FB or call or text 403-399-8789. Many thanks!

Yours in Service;

Master Tygar of Skagen

Lady Dauphina del Lago- Deputy

Quartermaster

Looking forward to moving quartermaster supplies into new storage.  (lease is prepared, chq will be written at tavern)

Nothing from QM was used during the last month.
Expect that to change next month with Baronial Pavilion and Eric poles and ropes going to June Coronation.
Have not been approached but are things needed for regional fight practice? (will touch base with wynworm to see if things are needed)
