A&S Tournament
Good artisans attending Dragonslayer – there will be an A&S tournament at the event!
More details to follow, but to get your inspiration flowing, this will entail:
- Cooperative Judging – the competitors will judge one another in small groups using a VERY simplified judging sheet.
- A one-page LIMIT to documentation – cover the Who, What, When, Where, Why, and How (Research entries should be summaries, and discussed during judging.) Reading off your documentation for presentation is acceptable if you need to (memory issues, etc). Documentation may be in bullet point or paragraph format.
- Group judging means within the tournament window, I will try to arrange it so that you can attend other parts of the event as well; you are not tied to the A&S area for the full tournament. Plan for about 15 minutes for presentation AND discussion for each project. Plan on your project to be on display for the full tournament window though so other guests can appreciate your hard work!
- Small display area; plan on using an area about the size of a placemat. If your physical project is larger, we’ll adjust on-site. “Staging” your entry is beneficial, but not required.
- ANY project (no theme) you’ve completed within the last two years can be entered. One entry per person.
- Pre-registration is requested to arrange groups for judging; please let me know you intend to compete by July 15th. (By emailing champion-as@montengarde.org)
- This Cooperative Judging format is what I hope to use for the Baronial A&S competition at 12th night with Their Excellencies’ approval, so participation here may be a good trial run for competing to be Montengarde’s next Emerald Rose.
- Prizes will be given to the overall winner by judges’ scores (i.e.: your fellow competitors) and the top-scoring project in each additional grouping, and will be awarded in court if Their Excellencies permit.
