I solicit all style of Fighter to please consider coming out and showing off your skills to the world at large! That\u2019s right, Montengarde and the Calgary Comic Expo needs you!<\/p>\n
The Expo runs from April 26th to April 29th. Below are the time slots the Expo is open on each day and this is when I would need people to be present. If you can make it, please PM me so I have a rough idea. <\/p>\n
Thursday 4:30PM-8:00PM I will not be running separate streams for each discipline (Heavy\/Rapier\/C&T) but rather working with all the fighters I have in 20-30minute time slots. You will be in armour for the duration to look sexy, but your actual fighting times will likely be quite short. We are sharing the eric space with other combat groups and therefore will rotate into that space throughout the day. That schedule is still pending. We have a place to change in our camp and a place to store your stuff out of the reach of prying eyes and hands.<\/p>\n All fighters MUST be authorized to be able to participate, (Society Requirement).<\/p>\n If you aren\u2019t authorized yet, please get that sorted out before the Expo. As MiC, I will be checking. If you cannot present your authorization, I cannot let you fight. No exceptions. If you are a new fighter, don\u2019t be intimidated by this requirement. Being authorized simply means you are safe to yourself and others. That\u2019s all. All skill levels welcome.<\/p>\n I will also need a few people willing to marshal throughout the day. If you’d be willing to take a short stint throughout the day to help marshal, I would appreciate it. I have the staffs, I just need a few bodies.<\/p>\n One last note; Demo fighting is a bit different than tourney fighting. Be flashy but not silly. If you don\u2019t really know what I mean by this, either PM me or have a chat with your local fighters who have been around for awhile. If the more senior fighters out there could touch base with their local practices to go over the difference, I would be grateful.
