We have been invited to participate in the Military Museum’s Annual Summer Skirmish on June 9th and 10th!
This demo happens annually (similar to Ghoul’s Night), but is a focus on combat and war tactics. Unlike other demo’s this one has come with a specific request: archery and combat archery. So I am looking for volunteers to help out with this fabulous two day event!
Artisans. Do you make your own armour? Shields? Anything crafty? Come out and show off!
Fighters!! There will be pick ups all day, and a main stage fight at 10am both days. Do you enjoy shield walls? War? This is a chance to show the populace how much fun we have getting together at our Wars.
Archers. Wanna show off? How about a combat archery tournament? It’s not often we get to show off archery and combat archery at a demo, especially a demo in the city, so this is a chance to come out and shine along side our fighters.
Everyone! Come out and show off the game that we all love. You are welcome to hang out, craft, socialize, fight, do pick ups, and interact with the other historical reenactment groups in Calgary.
Couple of perks:
– Camping is an option. If you would like to camp, please email me.
– There are washrooms and food trucks on site
– Saturday night there will be a small BBQ for the volunteers
– There is parking on site for volunteers
– If it rains, the baronial pavilion has been requested, and while we may not be able to fight, we can still show off
Thank you to everyone who comes and helps out with all of our demo’s, this one was a blast last year and looks like it will be even more fun this year!
